CLUB ACTIVITY
The GAA’s management committee made the decision during the past week to suspend all club games until further notice. This directive applies to all ages and all grades across the country.

SENIOR HURLING
Our senior hurlers had a convincing win over JK Brackens in the mid quarter final. Upperchurch were in control in the first half yet the concession of a goal left us with just a 1 point lead at half time. A goal from Jack Butler 6 minutes after the restart saw us open a gap and this was maintained all the way to the finish. It was a very open game with 1-21 of our 1-26 total coming from play. Padraig Greene scored 0-10, Jack Butler 1-4, Paul Ryan 0-3 and the remainder was shared among 6 players. Final score on the day was 1-26 to 2-16. Two other quarter finals were played last weekend with Thurles Sarsfields and Moycarkey-Borris both progressing also.

UNDER 21 FOOTBALL
Congratulations to the under 21 footballers who put in a fine performance in their county B semi final against Mullinahone last Sunday. In atrocious conditions in Cashel we played against the wind in the first half and put in a serious performance to lead by 2 points at half time. Luke Shanahan being our main scorer included a goal from a penalty. The second half saw us take command, shutting down Mullinahone attacks, and when Conor Fahey raised a green flag 8 minutes in we now held a 7 point lead. In a fine team performance we held Mullinahone scoreless in the second half until the final play of the game and this helped us to victory but 2-9 to 0-7. Ballina beat Galtee Rovers in the other semi final. With club action currently suspended no date has been set for the final.

TIPPERARY GAA CLUBS DRAW
The second GAA clubs draw of the season will take place tonight (Fri Oct 9th) and will be broadcast live on Tipp FM at 8:30pm. Congratulations to Julie Gleeson from the club who was a big winner in last month’s draw.

MINOR HURLING
Our minor hurlers acquitted themselves very well in last weekends mid final but unfortunately Moycarkey-Borris were just that small bit stronger on the day. The sides were level 10 apiece at half time but it was the first period of the 2nd half that proved decisive with Moycarkey racking up an 8 point lead after 20 minutes. The lads fought hard to recover but ultimately it wasn’t enough and the final score was 0-22 to 0-15 in Moycarkey’s favour. All the same well done to the panel and management for their efforts this year. The minor football campaign will start for us in 2 weeks time.

JUNIOR HURLING
The juniors were on the wrong end of a 1-17 to 0-11 scoreline in their final mid championship group game against Boherlahan Dualla last Sunday in Drombane. This ends our interest in the competition.

SENIOR FOOTBALL
Commiserations to our senior footballers who were pipped by JK Brackens in the final county championship group game. A Colm Stapleton goal saw us take a 1 point lead into the half time break. That lead extended to 4 points by the 2nd half water break but then it was JK Brackens turn to up the tempo and they scored 6 of the final 7 points to win 0-14 to 1-10. Kilsheelan’s victory over Aherlow gave them top spot in the group and progression to the county semi finals. JK Brackens finished 2nd, we are 3rd and Aherlow will contest the relegation playoffs. The mid championship semi final v Loughmore is currently scheduled for October.

MINOR HURLING
Congratulations to our minor hurlers who overcame Gortnahoe-Glengoole in the mid semi final last Wednesday night. A fine team performance sent us into a commanding lead and despite a strong fightback from Gortnahoe we won by 7 points (2-13 to 0-14). The mid final against Moycarkey/Borris takes place this Sunday at 4pm. Due to government restrictions there are no public tickets available for the game. The game will be streamed live with commentary by Sports Focus and can be viewed on their facebook page here: http://www.facebook.com/SportsfocusPhotography Best of luck to all the lads in the match.

SENIOR HURLING
Our county championship bid came to an end last Sunday when we were defeated by Borris-Ileigh in Semple Stadium. The lads put up a great effort but ultimately it was not enough against the reigning county and Munster champions. Jack Butler got us off to a great start with a first minute goal and it was nip and tuck for the first half with the teams going in level. A Niall Kenny goal for Borris turned the tide in their favour and saw them build up a commanding lead. Pat Shortt scored an injury time goal but it was Borris who ran out 1-20 to 2-10 winners. Toomevara’s win over Burgess means we finish 3rd in the final table so do not progress to the quarter finals but are also safe from relegation. There is now a break before the mid championship begins later in the Autumn.

SENIOR FOOTBALL
We will play JK Brackens next Sunday August 23rd at 4pm in The Ragg in our final group game in the county championship. A victory coupled with an Aherlow win in the other group game would see us finish top of the table and qualify for the semi finals. We are safe from the relegation playoff irrespective of results. Both ourselves & JK Brackens are teaming up to stream the game with a high quality stream and commentary being provided. The exact link to view it will be sent out before the game.

JUNIOR HURLING & TICKETS
Our junior hurlers came up short against Moycarkey-Borris in the mid championship last Friday night in Littleton. The hosts were much stronger on the evening and won on a scoreline of 4-23 to 0-14. Our final group game is on Sunday Aug 30th at 11am when we face Boherlahan Dualla in Drombane.

MINOR HURLING
Our minor hurlers were due to face Gortnahoe-Glengoole in the mid semi final last Wednesday however the game had to be postponed at late notice. We do not have a date for the re-fixture yet. Moycarkey-Borris await the winners in the final.

SENIOR HURLING
Last Saturday evening we played out a thrilling draw with Toomevara in the county championship at Semple Stadium. In a forward and back game we managed to raise 3 green flags through Paudie Greene and a brace from Jack Butler. There were fine performances throughout the field and on another day we could easily have claimed maximum points. Final score was 3-17 to 1-23. This result puts us on 3 points alongside Borris-Ileigh with Toomevara on 2 and Burgess yet to get off the mark. The lads now go into next Sunday’s final group game against Borris-Ileigh knowing that victory will guarantee us a place in the county quarter finals. We can still qualify if we are defeated but we will be relying on other results to go our way. Throw in is at 6pm in Semple Stadium. If you didn’t get one of the few tickets available for the game it will be streamed on the Tipperary GAA website and there will also be live radio commentary on Tipp FM. See below for more details. Best of luck to all involved on Sunday.

No spectators will be allowed cross the field into the Old Stand at any stage.

SENIOR FOOTBALL
We will play JK Brackens on Sunday August 23rd at 4pm in The Ragg in our final group game in the county championship. In order to progress we will need a victory by at least 2 points and also to rely on Kilsheelan not getting victory against Aherlow. We are safe from the relegation playoff irrespective of results.

JUNIOR HURLING & TICKETS
Our junior hurlers were pipped at the post by Drom & Inch in their first outing last Sunday in Drombane. Drom had the better of the first half but our lads finally hit the front in the 2nd half and things looked good when we led by 5 with 4 minutes left of normal time. However it was Drom’s turn to find form and they scored 1-3 without reply to claim a 1 point victory (3-14 to 3-13). Tonight(Friday) we face Moycarkey-Borris in Littleton at 7:30pm. Once again this is an all ticket game but the game will also be live streamed on our facebook page.

MINOR HURLING
The minor hurlers suffered defeat for the first time this year when Moycarkey Borris defeated them 1-17 to 0-12 in Littleton last Wednesday evening. Moycarkey took an early 5 point lead which we were unable to narrow. Despite this we finish the group stage on top of the table on 6 points. This puts us into a mid semi final against Gortnahoe-Glengoole next Wednesday at 7pm in The Ragg

SENIOR FOOTBALL
Congratulations to our senior footballers who defeated Aherlow in Dundrum last Saturday to get off the mark in the county championship. After a slow start a Conor Fahey goal on 23 minutes saw us to a 4 point lead at half time. And we kicked on from there outscoring our opponents 9 points to 2 in the second half with the final score 1-11 to 0-3. In the other group game Kilsheelan and JK Brackens payed out a draw. This leaves JK Brackens & Kilsheelan on 3 points, Upperchurch on 2 and Aherlow on 0 heading into the final round of games. We will play JK Brackens on Sunday August 23rd at 4pm in The Ragg.

JUNIOR HURLING & TICKETS

The club will have 50 tickets to distribute of which 15 will be for season ticket holders and the remaining 35 will be for sale to club members. If you are a season ticket holder or looking for a club ticket give your name to the club secretary and state which type of ticket you are looking for by TEXT ONLY on 086-2413884 by Friday 9pm.
Ticket cost is €6. If you have a season ticket you will have to present it at the gate on entry.

MINOR HURLING
The minor hurlers continue to put on very strong displays in the mid championship. Last Wednesday they defeated Gortnahoe-Glengoole 3-17 to 1-11 thanks in part to goals from Pat Ryan. It was Gortnahoe that did a lot of the early running but our lads dug in and narrowed the margin approaching half time before proving too strong in the second half. Next Wednesday we face Moycarkey-Borris in the final group game at 7:30pm in Littleton. We currently sit top of the group on 6 points.
