SENIOR HURLING
The quarter final of the Cahill Cup vs JK Brackens has been brought forward to tonight Friday at 8:00pm in Drombane. Our re-fixed quarter final of the mid championship versus Loughmore-Castleiney is currently planned to be played the last weekend of June but no definite date is set yet as we are also due to play senior football earlier in the week. In the semi finals of the County Challenge Cup we have been drawn against Holycross-Ballycahill. No decision has been made on when this game will be played either.

JUNIOR HURLING
Congratulations to our junior hurlers who last weekend won the Mid Tipp Junior League Div 2 final against Gortnahoe-Glengoole 2-17 to 1-13. Gortnahoe got off to a flying start with a goal in the first minute and maintained that advantage going into the break 5 points ahead. The 2nd half saw Upperchurch slowly clawing their way back into the game and with 7 minutes left the sides were level and from there on it was one-way traffic as we outscored Gortnahoe by 1-5 to 0-1. Well done to all the players, led by Lenny Purcell, and backroom team on bringing home our first title of the season. The mid championship is due to start on weekend of 18th/19th June with the junior football championship commencing the week after.

Weekly Club Notes – June 3rd 2016

SENIOR HURLING
Our senior hurlers faced Drom & Inch in the final group game in the county championship last Friday. In a well contested game the sides went in at half time level at 0-9 apiece and midway through the second half could still not be separated. However a Drom goal spurred them on to close out the victory on a scoreline of 1-19 to 0-16. We must now rely on winning the mid to continue interest in the county championship. Our quarter final of the mid championship versus Loughmore-Castleiney fixed for this Saturday night has been postponed following the death of Tess McGrath Loughmore. No re-fixed date is known as yet. The quarter final of the Cahill Cup vs JK Brackens will be played on Sat 11th June at 7:30pm in Drombane. In the semi finals of the County Challenge Cup we have been drawn against Holycross-Ballycahill. No decision has been made on when this game will be played.

JUNIOR HURLING
Our junior hurlers play the Mid Tipp Junior League Div 2 final this Sunday at 12 noon in Holycross vs Gortnahoe-Glengoole. Best of luck to the team and come along and support if you can. The mid championship is scheduled to begin in 2 weeks time.

SENIOR FOOTBALL
Our remaining county championship group game vs Kilsheelan-Kilcash is set for Wed 22nd June at 7:30pm in New Inn.
