SENIOR HURLING
Our senior hurlers showed great fight and composure when overturning a large deficit against Moycarkey-Borris in the mid semi final last weekend. Initially all looked to be going well as we took an early 2 point lead after 10 minutes but Moycarkey, with the aid of the breeze, scored 3 goals in under 10 minutes to take charge. Scores were spread evenly afterwards leaving us with a 6 point deficit at the break. Moycarkey held resolute early in the second half and we still trailed by 8 midway through.
However a fine goal from Loughlin Ryan followed by one from Jack Butler saw us work our way back into the game and points from Niall Grant, Paul Shanahan, Loughlin Ryan and a trio from Paudie Greene were enough to clinch a 4 point victory 2-23 to 3-16. Great credit to the lads for their performance.
Awaiting us on Sunday are Drom & Inch in the mid final. The game throws in at 3pm in Littleton. This will be our 4th appearance in a mid final and our 3rd in the last 6 years. Best of luck to all involved as they seek to bring home a first ever mid senior title to the parish. Hopefully a fine crowd will be there to support them.

SENIOR FOOTBALL
Another huge game for the club is our first ever appearance in a senior county quarter final. Next Wednesday we will face JK Brackens in Littleton at 8pm. Note the change of time and venue from when first announced. Again, best of luck to management and players.

SENIOR HURLING
The senior hurlers bounced back in a big way from the county group stage defeat to Loughmore by claiming a hard fought victory over Thurles Sarsfields in the mid quarter final last Sunday. Both sides knew going into the game that the loser would exit the championship so the pressure was firmly on. Sars had the better of the early exchanges and held a 4 point lead after 15 minutes. However points from play by Paudie Greene, Paul Shanahan & Pat Shortt saw us fight back and it was level 10 points apiece at the interval.
The 2nd half was tight again as Pat Shortt got another point but it was Gavin Ryans goal on 39 minutes that gave us the advantage and further points from play by Paudie Greene & Diarmuid Grant saw us push on. Sars as expected fought hard but when Paul Shanahan put over his 3rd point from play on 60 minutes and Paudie Greene struck a free a couple of minutes later we had a 4 point advantage. Not even a last minute goal from Sars was enough to deny us and we progress to the semi finals on a scoreline of 1-20 to 1-19. Our opponents there will be Moycarkey-Borris and that game be the first of a double header in Holycross this Sunday at 2pm. Best of luck to the lads as we try to reach another mid final.

SENIOR FOOTBALL
The draw has been made for the county quarter finals and we will face JK Brackens. At this moment the game is fixed for Templetouhy on Sunday Sept 29th at 12:30pm.

SENIOR HURLING
Our senior hurlers had a disappointing result in the final county group game suffering defeat to Loughmore-Castleiney. An even start had both teams level after 10 minutes but Loughmore had a purple patch over the next 15 minutes outscoring us 1-12 to 0-1. From then on it was an uphill battle to get back into the game and the final score was 3-25 to 0-18. We finish the group in 3rd place, not enough to advance but also safe from relegation playoffs. All now hinges on the mid championship and the clash with Thurles Sarsfields this Sunday in The Ragg at 1:30pm. Both sides know they must win the division to get back into the county series so it will be hell for leather. Hopefully a big local support is there to cheer on the lads.

SENIOR FOOTBALL
Our senior footballers made history on Wednesday as we qualified for our first ever county senior football quarter final. They entered the game against Eire Og Annacarty knowing that the winner would progress to the knockout stages while the loser would be involved in the relegation battle. The opening half was evenly shared however we couldn’t convert possession to scores and it was Eire Og who took a 2 point advantage into the interval. The 2nd half followed a similar vein with both teams defending well and limiting clear scoring opportunities for their opponents. Midway through the 2nd half it looked like the game was slipping away from us as Annacarty went 7 points to 4 ahead but points from Colm Stapleton and Paul Shanahan brought it back to a single point nearing full time. Great work by Keith Ryan down the wing and in front of the goal by Conor Fahey resulted in a penalty being awarded to us which Paul Shanahan cooly slotted home to give us a 2 point victory 1-6 to 0-7. We now wait to see who our opponents are in the quarter finals as we face one of the group winners.

SENIOR HURLING
We resumed county hurling action last weekend with a close and exciting clash against Burgess. A nip and tuck first half saw us take a 3 point lead into the break and we maintained this advantage till a Burgess goal midway through the second levelled proceedings. From there on points were traded until Burgess took a 2 point lead approaching full time. But our lads found an extra gear to fire over 3 unanswered points and claim the win 0-21 to 1-17. With Loughmore & Nenagh playing out a draw in the other group game it leaves the table very tight. Nenagh on 3 pts, Upperchurch & Loughmore on 2 pts and Burgess on 1 pt.
Tomorrow(Saturday) we play our final county group round against Loughmore-Castleiney at 5pm in Templetouhy. The winners will progress to the knockout stages. Best of luck to the players and hoping for good support to cheer them on. The mid quarter final against Thurles Sarsfields is scheduled for Sunday Sept 15th at 2pm in The Ragg.

SENIOR FOOTBALL
Next Wednesday we face off against Éire Óg Annacarty in our final county group game with the winner qualifying for the county quarter finals. This match is fixed for Dundrum at 6pm and it would be great to see a big turnout there.
