UNDER 21 FOOTBALL

Our u21 footballers will contest the mid final tomorrow(Saturday) against Moyne/Templetouhy-Thurles Gaels in The Ragg. Throw-in is at 2pm and all support would be greatly appreciated.

JUVENILE CLUB
A provisional list of the juvenile fixtures for the next couple of months are now up on our clubify app. Times of some fixtures will possibly change to avoid clashes.

CUL CAMP COACH RECRUITMENT
Tipperary GAA are currently in the process of updating their coaching staff for Easter Camps and Kelloggs Cul Camps 2018. Personnel will be placed on a recruitment panel. Anyone interested should apply by email only with C.V and cover letter to tipperarygaacamps@ gmail.com Applicants must be born on or before 1st January 2001. Applications will close on Friday 16th March. Successful applicants will be called for training on Saturday 24th and Monday 26th March. Training will be provided by Croke Park staff

SENIOR MID CHAMPIONSHIP
The mid SHC quarter final v Thurles Sarsfields has been fixed for 5pm on Sat March 31st in The Ragg

2018 COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIP FIXTURES
The draws have been made for the 1st round of the county hurling and football championships. On the weekend of April 8th our senior hurlers will play Drom-Inch. On the weekend of April 15th our senior footballers will play Galtee Rovers.

JUVENILE CLUB

CUL CAMP COACH RECRUITMENT
Tipperary GAA are currently in the process of updating their coaching staff for Easter Camps and Kelloggs Cul Camps 2018. Personnel will be placed on a recruitment panel. UNDER 21 FOOTBALL

Our 100% start to the mid championship was maintained as the u21’s gained a comfortable 2-19 to 2-5 victory over Gortnahoe-Glengoole last Saturday. The final group game is against the combo of Moyne-Templetouhy & Thurles Gaels on a date yet to be confirmed.

2018 COUNTY LEAGUE DRAWS
The draws were made earlier this week for the 2018 county hurling leagues. We have entered 2 teams again this year and are in Div 1 & Div 5. The first round of games will be played in early March. Groups are as follows:
County Hurling League Division 1 Group 2 – Clonoulty Rossmore, Upperchurch Drombane, Nenagh Eire Óg, Kiladangan, Roscrea, Drom & Inch
County Hurling League Division 5 Group 1 – Kilsheelan-Kilcash, Thurles Sarsfields, Thurles Gaels, Cahir, Grangemockler-Ballyneale, Upperchurch Drombane

UNDER 21 FOOTBALL

We got off to a fine start in the mid championship with a win last weekend over Boherlahan Dualla. Round 2 takes place tomorrow(Sat) at 2pm in Gortnahoe against Gortnahoe-Glengoole.

2018 COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIP DRAWS
The draws for the county football & hurling championships was made in Thurles last Mon night. In senior hurling we are in roinn 1 group 3 alongside Thurles Sarsfields, Drom & Inch and Carrick Swans. In senior football we are in group 2 with Moyle Rovers, Arravale Rovers & Galtee Rovers. The first rounds of these groups will be played in April along with the mid hurling championship. The full groups can be seen on our clubify app.

UNDER 21 FOOTBALL

The bad weather last weekend forced the cancellation of our first match in the mid championship against Boherlahan Dualla. The game has been rescheduled for Sunday in Boherlahan at 12pm.

2018 MID CHAMPIONSHIP DRAWS
Last Friday night saw the draws made for this years mid championships. In senior hurling we will face a rematch of last years closely fought mid final as we face Thurles Sarsfields in the quarter final. Senior football sees us up against Drom & Inch in the semi final, the same stage we managed to overcome them last year.
In junior B hurling we have been placed in group 1 along with Sarsfields, Thurles Gaels, Holycross & Loughmore while in minor B hurling we are in a group with Gortnahoe, Moycarkey & Na Sairsealaigh Óg. Best of luck to all teams in 2018.

CONCERT IN AID OF IRISH KIDNEY ASSOCIATION
A Music Fest/Concert of music, song and dance in the Hills Of Upperchurch this Saturday night 27th Jan in Pa’s Bar at 8pm. It is supporting the Irish Kidney Association. Local and visiting artistes will share their talents. All raffle donations will support the North Tipperary Irish Kidney Association. There will be a IKA information stand present with information on kidney donations and living donor transplants. Your support would be greatly appreciated. Tell all your friends as a great night’s entertainment lies ahead.

TOMMY RYAN RIP
The sad death occurred last weekend of Tommy Ryan(Line). Tommy gave many years of stellar service to the club including 30 as treasurer. The club extends its sincere sympathies to the family, relations and friends of Tommy.

DROMBANE 5KM CHARITY FUNDRAISER
Thanks to all who took part in our charity 5km walk/run on New Years Eve. Over 130 took part with a total of €1,240 raised for the local Active Retirement Group. Thanks also to all who helped out on the day with registration, catering, stewards and participants. The full results of the race and also photos of the victors in the various categories can be seen on the club facebook page. Winner of the men’s race – John Fogarty. Winner of the women’s race – Madeline Loughnane. Winner of the u16 category – Emmet Fogarty.

ANNUAL TABLE QUIZ
The GAA club will host its annual table quiz on Wednesday Dec 27th at 9:30pm in Oliver Ryans bar. All welcome to enter

DROMBANE 5KM CHARITY FUNDRAISER
For this years Xmas charity fundraiser we’re going to take a break from Moher Hill and do a 5k run and walk starting and finishing in Drombane Village. It will take place on Sunday Dec 31st with the proceeds this year going to the newly formed Upperchurch Drombane Active Retirement Group. Walk starts at 12:30pm and race at 12:45pm. Regristration & start at Drombane Hall. Entry is €10 for adults and children are free. Refreshments served afterwards. Please support this good cause and burn off some of the Christmas excess at the same time.

Last Sunday saw the club hold it’s AGM. On the night the officer’s for 2018 were selected with the main change at the top table being Joseph Lowry taking over the role of Secretary from the outgoing Catheriona Kennedy. Thanks to Catheriona for her hard work in the role and also to Kaye Ryan who stepped down as treasurer after 5 years in the role. It’s hoped to fill the role of treasurer in the coming weeks.

LIAM LAWTON IN CONCERT IN UPPERCHURCH CHURCH
This weekend sees Upperchurch Church host it’s first ever concert with the popular Liam Lawton performing. This event is a fundraiser for 4 local voluntary organisations. Doors open at 7pm with concert starting at 8pm. Tickets costing €20 can be purchased from local retail outlets or by contacting 0876863762 or 0862538201. The GAA club is organising stewarding for the event so anyone who is free to help out should meet in the village at 6pm on Saturday with a hi-viz jacket and torch.
