CAHILL CUP
A strong final quarter performance for Moycarkey-Borris saw them defeat our senior hurlers in the Mid Cahill Cup quarter final last week in Drombane. Upperchurch had begun quickly and were three points up within 5 minutes before the visitors found their feet. At the 15 minute mark the sides were tied at 5 points apiece before a Paul Shanahan goal restored the Upperchurch lead. The teams then traded points with the one goal gap maintained till half time. The second half continued in a similar vein and we still led by 3 points halfway through the second half. However, it was Moycarkey who finished strongest and scored 7 of the remaining 8 points to advance 0-19 to 1-13. Our attention now turns to the mid & county championships where we will face Thurles Sarsfields initially in both competitions.

MID HURLING LEAGUE

Our junior A hurlers take on JK Brackens in the Mid JHL Div 1 semi final this evening in Templemore at 7:15pm. Best of luck to the team. All support welcome. Our junior C hurlers were narrowly defeated by Knock in the Mid JHL Div 4 semi final last Sunday evening on a scoreline of 3-12 to 1-17.

GOLF CLASSIC

Upperchurch Drombane GAA club will hold their 24th Annual Golf Classic on Friday 10th and Saturday 11th of July, in Ballykisteen Golf Club. Entry for a team of four costs €220 and includes a round of golf, barbecue mid round and a meal afterwards. Excellent prizes are on offer. INTERCOUNTY HURLING
Best of luck to Keith Ryan and the Tipperary senior hurlers who take on Limerick in their final Munster championship game this Sunday in the Gaelic Grounds. After making his championship debut as a second half sub in the Clare game Keith has been named to start at number 4 for the Limerick clash.

CIVIC RECEPTION

Tipperary County Council & Cllr Peggy Ryan held a civic reception last night(Thursday) in Drombane Hall to celebrate the momentous year for Upperchurch GAA in 2025. Thanks to all involved in organising the event and also all members who attended.

There were 2 match 3 winners who received €75 each. The jackpot for next week now resets to €5,600 for next week's draw. Tickets must be bought by 8pm on Tuesday to be in the draw.
