UNDER 19 FOOTBALL

Congratulations to our u19 footballers who overcame Boherlahan Dualla on Wednesday night to claim the mid u19 B title. A fine game of football under the lights of Dr Morris Park saw an early conceded goal put us under pressure but tremendous spirit saw us turn a 4 point deficit into a 4 point lead at half time. Boherlahan battled gamely and drew the match level early in the second period but a brilliant combination of skill and workrate put us back 4 points ahead, a margin which was maintained to the final whistle. Final score was 2-12 to 2-8. This sets up a county quarter final against the north champions Newport with the date for this fixture not confirmed yet.

JUNIOR HURLING

Commiserations to the junior A hurlers who bowed out of the championship at the mid final stage last weekend against a very strong Holycross Ballycahill outfit. A 2nd minute goal for Holycross put us on the back foot with exchanges of points leaving the gap between 4 and 5 points until a second Holycross goal in the 22nd minute which left the half time gap at 6 points. We kept fighting in the 2nd half and a goal from TJ Butler midway through reduced the gap to 3 points. However that was as close as it got and a late goal for either side left the final score 3-21 to 2-17 in favour of Holycross. A disappointing end to what has been a very good season with 8 wins from 10 games including some silverware in the form of the mid junior league.

SENIOR FOOTBALL

Our county quarter final v Clonmel Commercials has been fixed for Sunday 24th Oct at 3:30pm in Boherlahan.

JUNIOR FOOTBALL

No date is set as yet for the mid final. The other semi final between Clonakenny & Holycross/Ballycahill is set to be played on Oct 24th.
